Given I'll be getting a new PC shortly, I could be tempted by this one. What do you reckon, Jim? Will you be 'upgrading'?

Crap, just realise that with a new PC I'll be able to play all those shiney games that wouldn't run on my old rig.

Is this a stand alone brand new game game or will it be an add on to RACE07/GTR EVO ?

Disc version will be released 13/11/2009 in UK; £24.99 inc p&p from both Amazon and Play. Might be able to get it cheaper on Steam given I already have Race 07, but I doubt that will save me that much.

Will be available via Steam on 22/10/2009. I assume this applies to all countries.

Since it includes Race 07 and STCC Game, it should be a stand-alone version.

Race On is out on steam £17.99 for the expansion or £21.99 for the full bundle. Not sure what I really need do you get STCC with the expansion or not ? it isn't very clear. Also with the full bundle it doesn't mention GTR EVo which is what I have so not sure how that fits into the equation.

Just done a bit of delving into what you get & think in Race on full buncle you get Race07,STCC + the new RAce on muscle cars tracks & Formula MAsters.
In the expansion you get STCC + the new muscle cars ,tracks & formula masters.

So if I am reading it correctly in neither version do you get the additional GTR EVO content the only way to get that is to buy GTR EVO on one form or another. As I already have GTR EVO & RAce07 installed I guess the way to go is just get the expansion pack/download. I may have bought the full thing if it contained everything to keep it neat on one DVD but may now be tempted by the steam download of the expansion only.

If it helps Neil, I bought the expansion only, and I have only one installation with all Race07, STCC, EVO and Race on cars available in the menu. It merges all your content.

I bought STCC previously Neil so not 100% sure, but I think I read that the 2008 STCC and WTCC are included with Race On.

Neil, just looked here and it lists STCC as being included.

I have read somewhere else that STCC doesn't come with the expansion & just the full bundle so will hold off until I know for sure one way or the other.

Having had a look around my game, I can confirm STCC isn't included in the expansion. Damn, not quite the bargain. I'll see if Steam will let me change it for the full bundle...

Sorry guys - it looks like I've just added to the confusion - yes STCC only comes with the full edition of Race On, not the expansion. :(

It really isn't very clear at all on steam & a few people seem to be annoyed hopefully they let you download the stcc addon for the difference in price of the full bundle/expansion.

Well, I've sent an email to Steam to see if I can change my purchase or get STCC for less than the standalone STCC price. I'll wait and see what they say. No huge issue if they don't allow it, as STCC would just be a nice to have rather than a must have.

Tried the Formula Master on a few tracks there. Very easy to drive. Very nice indeed. :)

I really only want the STCC mainly for the extra tracks rather than the cars.WOnder if they are already converted by someone from STCC to run in RACE07 anyway ,don't think it is supposed to be legal but that hasn't stopped people in the past.

I'm impressed.

Steam refunded my £17.99 and revoked access to Race On on my PC. I have now purchased the full bundle for £21.99 which re-activated it on my PC and am currently downloading STCC.

A satisfactory conclusion. As I said, I'm impressed.

:)
