When I were a lad, I played this sim a lot with a couple of friends, and I mean a lot! For months on end we used to meet up every week to do a few rallies, and the competition got quite intense. Anyway, I saw them a couple of weeks ago, and we got reminiscing about CMR2, and one of them said he still had it for the PC. We then decided it would be fun to try it again, after seven years, to see if we still remembered the stages at all. So I've just installed the game on my new PC and copied over our old player profiles (yeah, I know, how sad is it that I kept them all this time!) and everything works like a dream. Next Thursday I think. I wonder if I should cheat by getting some practice in...

Yes Alan, get the practice in. We used to have a weekly challenge who could get the best time on a stage - it got very competetive at times. I'm still partial to a bit of CM Dirt on a gamepad, great fun.

I'd never noticed it before, but it appears that CMR2 supports internet play. Not sure what it's like, but I might see if there's anything to join. Doubt it, though, after all this time.

Just finished a retro CMR2 session with a couple of my pals. Great fun, and a great game. Kicked butt on the snow of Sweden, but struggled a little bit on the gravel of Finland and Kenya (but that was probably due to going first on stages I hadn't seen in years).
