Just need to get accomodation sorted now. Any recommendations?
If, for whatever reason, this weekend fails to happen, I could just go to Knockhill that weekend to see Ali in the Legends instead!

Well, that's my train tickets booked, so it looks like it's official - I will be getting very, very drunk the first weekend in June!

That seems kind of ironic that when Ali comes up to your neck of the woods, you come down here. Let's just hope he doesn't think it's personal, lol.
I'd say to book up at the Oliver Cromwell Hotel or the Olde Griffin as they are in the centre of town, but the Station Hotel is just round the corner from Scott if you don't mind the quality of your accomodation too much. _______________ Life is a gift, don't abuse it. #80 Offspring/BDS Tuning Holden Lites #80 Offspring/BDS Tuning Nissan Trucks www.v8thunder.com |

I take it the train takes you as far as Peterborough Alan & that's where your staying ? Theres a couple of cheap & cheerful Travel Inn's in the town for about £40 a night but just outside of the city centre.I will definately be going to all SCSA events this year again & if a major piss up is on the cards I may well be interested ;-)!! Have you got transport sorted out to & from Rockingham ?

He's actually staying at March, either me or Scott will be picking him up from Peterborough. A piss up is definately on the cards, (both places I suggested have their own bars,) and you're more than welcome to join us Neil. We'll have a chance to meet you before race day then.
Actually one of the possibilities was going clubbing on the friday night depending on if Alan is up to it after his journey. If your brother doesn't mind you crashing at his place, then we could come out in Peterborough and hit a couple of places over there. _______________ Life is a gift, don't abuse it. #80 Offspring/BDS Tuning Holden Lites #80 Offspring/BDS Tuning Nissan Trucks www.v8thunder.com |

I'm sure I could be up for clubbing if you wanted to. My journey is only four hours, after all, and I will be down your way at around 6.30pm.
I was wondering whether it would make more sense for me to stay in Peterborough on the Sunday night. My train home is at around 9.30am on the Monday. What do you think? It sounds easier, and would save one of you guys having to fight through rush-hour traffic to get me to the station in time. Neil, are the Travel Inn's near the station (i.e. staggering distance)? |

You'll have to discuss the sunday night arrangements with Scott as I shall be heading off on holiday straight from Rockingham. I can't think of where the nearest Travel Inn is in Peterborough, but there is a hotel right opposite Peterborough station. Not sure on the quality/prices though.

Just booked a room at The Olde Griffin for the Fri, Sat and Sun nights. The Oliver Cromwell looked nice, but a bit pricey (£65/nite compared to £45/nite).
So that's transport and accomodation sorted. Looks like I'll be seeing you all in June then! ![]() |

Great stuff, I thought it was cheaper than that at the Oli Crom though. Still, The Olde Griffin is in town with our favorite drinking place right opposite. It seems like the friday is the only chance to go out drinking in the area now with me now being a team member. Although I'm sure there'll be no objections to you guys joining the party in the pits saturday night.

The Griffin is very outdated compared to The Oliver Cromwell, but I think you made the correct decision as the £40 saved will be half way to getting you drunk.
![]() I think sticking to the plan of spending Friday clubbing in Peterborough is the best option. On Sunday, a quiet drink in March sounds like a good idea. Not sure about Saturday though. |

Sounds good to me. Don't mind what we do on the Saturday (recover from Friday?). Will Nick be at the circuit?

Yeah, i'll be at Rockingham on saturday, but everyone is free to come down for practise/quali. You can even stay the night if you wish, just bring a sleeping bag
![]() Actually, does the Griffin have a limit to how late you can be in? I don't imagine we'll get back to March before 3 on saturday morning. ![]() _______________ Life is a gift, don't abuse it. #80 Offspring/BDS Tuning Holden Lites #80 Offspring/BDS Tuning Nissan Trucks www.v8thunder.com |

I presume you'll not be back in March until 3am due to the team working hard on the truck. Surely there aren't plans for a Saturday night out in Corby? No-one could be that sadistic!

Worse comes to the worse and The Griffin shuts its doors early, I'm sure there'll be someone crawling out of Minstrelz and planning to throw themselves through the window of Somerfield. Alan could sleep in there.

Getting off your train at 1am was just unfortunate. You didn't see Motherwell at its best.

In a moment of paranoia I decided to check that my hotel booking still existed. Thankfully it does.
Decided to also ask what time everyone has to be in by at night, but there isn't any limit as I'd be given a key for the backdoor. Party on, dudes! Now I just need to wait for GNER to post me my train tickets... _______________ ![]() |

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if you could turn up without a booking and they'd still find you a room. As wonderfully attractive as March is, I'm sure you won't have to be queuing to check in.
