I wonder if I can ask you advice as a rower? I have/had a rowing machine that I use when I cant get out on the bike, winter etc, and it'd died. RIP. :(

I cant source replacement tapes for it as yet, so a new one may be on the cards. I see different types or rowing machines, air, magnetic etc, and wondered what is the best kind. I use it most nights during winter, so it gets fairly heavy use - my daughter uses it too when she's home.

Any advice you could offer would be welcome. :)

The only rowing machines I have experience of are the Concept 2s at my gym (prefer the Model D myself). They are not cheap, but they are gym-grade equipment. They're also the 'standard' rowing machine, and will be used by Olympic rowers when not out on water.

I'd love one, but I don't have the space for one.

What's your budget? You can sometimes find second hand C2s here: http://concept2.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=7
