Has anyone bought Race? I really liked the sound of this game when it was first announced, but have read some fairly discouraging remarks (about the demo) on a forum. Seems as if SimBin might have been badly affected by the split with Blimey.

No, sorry. I have 1 Simbin sim (try saying that after a few beers) - GTL. Whilst it was generally well received, I found it to be like a console game that they tried to convert into a sim. Little immersion, processor hungry, and buggy. Online code poor, and pickup races are worse than Sierra. On the positive side, the depiction of real cars on real tracks is good.
I'm still too tuned-in to Papyrus. I'll try R-Factor towards the end of next year, if it continues to be popular. |

I'm a bit of a SimBin fan after enjoying both GTR and GPL (although I've never played GTR2). The only thing I do wonder is whether their games are processor hungry because they're so visually impressive, or whether it's a case of poor coding. I've posted a video from Race below. Looks impressive, although the onboard stuff makes it appear as if there's a frustrating amount of understeer. That could just be the set-up, mind.
