Ooh, getting kinda official now. Less than a week and a half until my competition debut at the Scottish Indoor Rowing Championships. Starting to get a little nervous/excited. Should be good. Target will be a Top 10 finish in my race...

By indoor rowing does that mean rowing machines or some kind of indoor lake?

Funny you should ask that, because the following is actually at my gym: http://www.scottish-rowing.org.uk/NRA.html But, in this case, it's rowing on machines. ![]() _______________ ![]() |

Thoroughly enjoyed the day. Well organised event that ran very smoothly. Was good to meet some members of my 'other' team (Scotland The Wave). A good debut competition for us, with three medals and several PBs.
As for me, I finished 5th out of 7 in my race. But more importantly I set a new PB of 7:13.2 - an improvement of 8.2s. Delighted with that. Far, far better than I was expecting. ![]() Also may have set a PB in the 1km team event later in the afternoon, but actually have my finishing time to prove it. Will just have to go to the gym this week and beat it properly. So all my months of raining have paid off. Now my focus switches to the UK championships in November where I will aim to join the sub 7 club. _______________ ![]() |

Cheers guys.
Just back from the gym - improved 1km time by 4.3s for a 3:29.3. OK, I'll stop boring you guys with my rowing tales. At least until November... ![]() _______________ ![]() |

Eek. SIRC '08 in five weeks time in Edinburgh. Training has not been going well recently (illness, moving home, Christmas, etc), but will start a new thread nearer the time.
