Am just about ready to upload a revamped TE website. It's purely cosmetic, but makes quite a difference. Site looks a lot cleaner for it.

Before I do so, however, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to content improvements?

Also, should I hold off until nearer next season so we can launch it along with our new cars and plans for coming season?

More stats, I love stats and as many as we can have would be nice. A lot of work though! I'll think of more ideas and let you know, you'll regret asking for ideas now!

What kind of 'more stats' would you like, David?

I'm thinking of adding a 'season' level to the menu system so you could go NR2003>V8Thunder>Winter 2005>Results or NR2003>V8Thunder>Summer 2005>Cars. At the moment it just displays the current season's info, but if the database contains the details there's no reason why not to display them. Would be nice to see all the TE cars.

Aso thinking of moving the cars from the drivers' pages to a separate gallery page for each driver, ordered by season. Again, this would contain all cars/trucks used by that driver in V8Thunder (assuming I had a pic of it).

I still have all of my cars from the beginning, as well as Scott's early cars.

Yes, I've got yours, David. Talking of which, David, what was the sponsor and make of your #77 car?

Nick, if you could send me anything you have that'd be great. Ideally, the renders Rich H did for the car download pages would be good, as that would make them all look similar.

The sponsor was "West", the same sponsor as the McLaren F1 team have. It's confusing due to my name!

Unfortunately I don't have the renders, Rich would be a better bet for those. If Rich hasn't got them anymore, I could send the cars directly to him and allow him to create new ones, we won't know though until he returns from holiday.

Summer 2004 Season - Nick and Scott's Team AK Lites cars, Neil's original Leicester FC Lites car; Nick's Team AK truck

Summer 2005 Season - Have them all

Autumn 2005 Season - Have Scott's PacifiCare car, all others WIP

OK, new site should now be fully online. Please take a look at it and let me know what you think. Personally, I think it's a big improvement. Also, if you find any dodgy links or missing pics, please let me know. Thanks.

Yes, looks nice!

Update:

"home"
"the future" - team history

---

Wouldnīt it be nice with a link from this forum to TE website? I had some problems with understanding what you were talking about, then I realised that this is only the forum part... then I pasted the web address from Alans signature...

Nice, good work!

I mentioned earlier about having more stats. Now we are starting a new season it might be a good time to start collating them as some might be very hard/time consuming to find going back over the seasons.

I'd like to see: laps driven, laps led, DNFs, career points scored but like I say only if you have time to do it, I know from my own site it's quite a task collating this data and I only have to do it for myself!

I could do some kind of automatic script using php which you could paste the exported race results into and it would sort it all out for you, now you've given me an idea and that is dangerous!

Alan, is it you who does al the work getting the driver standings tables updated? Do you do this manually or is there some kind of program which does the work for you?

As of last season the drivers standing tables (and team, independent, rookie, nation too) are done using a program called ThunderStanding, written by myself. It's Java based, with a Swing GUI and an Access database. It reads in and parses the race exports and then does its thang.

Good work, IMHO the best online racing website I think I've seen.

Please remove the link to Speedworx as it isnt working properly since my hosting problems and I've not got any motivation to get it sorted under the current circumstances! I think the URL expires soon and Topham isn't bothered about taking it over, I paid for it for 2 years originally.

Pity really, but there you go.

Gallery now added. See under NR2003>V8Thunder menu. Only six pics for now, all from Michigan.

If you grab any good pictures from race replays that you would like added, send them over to me. I'll maybe take a look through Tally replays to see if there's any good action shots for the team. I'm thinking David and Peter and Sharon coming together would look, unfortunately, spectacular!

Yeah, David had a nice flight... in some angle it would be worth depicting!

Very nice gallery! :D Though I would appreciate some better quality of the resolution.

Three more pics added, all from Tally. Also played around with filters to make the pics look more interesting. Let me know what you think!

Pick of me leading the pack is a good pic! :D And good filter. Second also a nice pic, donīt know about the filter... Iīm sorry to say the last pic donīt gain from that filter, I think, cars look fast but applied on whole pic makes it look like a shaky shot... Nice to see Dave winning!
